A marriage is a sacred union between a man and a woman.
The marriage union is a covenant, a "binding spiritual contract".
Marriage is God's idea. He performed the first wedding, bringing Eve to Adam. And in Ephesians 5 we read that marriage is supposed to be a "picture story" for the relationship between Christ and the Church.
Marriage should be a sacred union, a covenant, a spiritual union, between a man and a woman brought together by God.
And today there are many pressures upon marriages. Divorce is commonplace in our society. It is too easy for a married couple to obtain a divorce, and the once common-held view of the sanctity of the marriage vows now seems old-fashioned in our throw-away culture.
With these views in mind, it is the policy of Abundant Life Community Church that we can only perform weddings for those who are attending our church, for those whom we know are prepared for the sacred union of marriage.
If you desire to be married we urge you to be an active part in a Bible-believing, Christ-centered church. And if you are interested in being married here at Abundant Life, we urge you to visit us at one of our worship services, Sundays at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m., to see if you are interested in joining us.
"For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband." (Ephesians 5:30-33) |
